I just found out Rod & Custom has gone under.
Frank the three year subs we bought last year at the Nats for R&C and Street Rodder hasn't turned out to be a good deal now. We'll still get SR and hopefully that will last a bit longer.
A sad day in hotrodding.
I maybe from down under but I know which way is up.
Oh hell there goes another head rush.

I guess that makes the R&C mags I threw out more valuable now ?

I read about this also. I have copies from all the areas. I have noticed a sharing of articles from all related mags. I guessed something was about to happen. Sad day for me too.

I went and check my subscription end date. All the way to June 2019. I imagine we're going to be SOL.

Rod and Custom has always had so many places offering a deal on subscriptions that I have kept a folder so that I only re-new my subscription from one place. Wasn't too long ago that someone offered a three year subscription for a ridiculous price but I checked and I was        re-newed to Nov. 16. I wonder how many people thought they could   "Cash In" on that last deal? Or how many people have subscriptions from two or more places. Maybe they are on the "Publisher's Clearing (out) House". A friend bought us a subscription to "Mother Earth News" and the latest issue has an article on how to build your dream home with no mortgage. If someone could figure out a way to make glue from dis-carded water bottles you could use magazines like bricks or Legos and build a house. Oh well! GPster

I guess my collection starting in 1962 to date may be a little more valuable ???
At least my sub only went to Dec '16... I am going to try to get it applied to my Street Rodder or Hot Rod sub ... I think they may be around the longest .... :?:    :?:

I trained for print advertising in college but now am glad I didn't end up pursuing that. Screens instead of pages saves trees, and all the mags have become pretty watered down in recent years. Like "see the full story and watch the videos at" www dot whatever on every page anyway. Sad but true, and while I probably should have been but was not a subscriber, there are some of the other mags I enjoy suffering similar fates. Change is unpleasant. Surely Source will offer a transfer of your subscriptions ... Car Craft is the only one I still get and it looks like it should be called prison thug mag now. Rod and custom was the only other I would have wanted. Maybe they have some guns or girls mags too, ha.

That's why I don't put all my eggs in one basket. I'm expecting my next issue of Super Rod. The last one was really good. That's the one that came out in...

I just brought in my mail and my September 2014 Rod and Custom subscriber issue was in it. I looked real quick and there's no mention on the cover that it's the last issue. I even went to the editorial and in big letters  it mentions that they have Cooker Tire as a sponsor for their 2015 get together. I'm too busy to look for the bad news yet. GPster

You click on their web site and the first thing that pops up is a window offering a 1 year subscription for $17.95.

From the Rod & Custom Facebook Page:

The rumors and news you've read elsewhere are true, we're sad to inform you that Rod & Custom magazine is merging with Street Rodder after the October issue. Subscribers will be informed of their options. However, the September issue of R&C is out now! The October issue will be the final one, and sure to be collectible.

I sent an email to both publisher and editor and they didn't have the courtesy to  answer.
