I want to replace the lenses in my 39 Ford taillights. Simple job right. As I remember you just take the screw out of the bottom of the metal trim rim, gently pull it out and up and the trim ring comes right off. Well they won't budge. What am I doing wrong? Over the years I've had a bunch of these apart with no problem. I know I'm old but this is ridiculous.

I didn't build this car so I don't know what brand the taillight assys are but I do know that they are a pain in rear end. I finally got one of the trim rings off. The inner edge of the trim ring hits the outer edge of the housing all the way around so when you push them on they spread enough the snap on but then are almost locked on. The ground the inner edge on the one I get off so it now fits right. I just hope the bulb in the other side never burns out!
