We are at $1.12 PER LITER up here. Let's see, that's $1.12 X3.89 liters/gal=$4.35 per your gallon. It's no wonder why we all fill it up before we come back across the border

$1.26 for Premium = $4.90 for a US gallon.

The spread between regular and premium is huge compare to the US.

And there is NO reason for it.

Over here in Australia we're paying around $1.30 per litre, and have been for a few years now. Thats about $5/US gallon.
It sometimes climbs to around $1.50/L, or nearly $6/US gallon.
If we could pay half that, life would be great

Paid 3.40 for diesel

because it's still low compared to the $4 plus we reached 2008. the price will rise till the uproar is too loud then drop again. at that point it'll hover around $2.50/$3.00 til the next rise where the uproar won't start till the price is above where it stopped this time. then the whole process will repeat. each time the bottom price will be higher then the last bottom price and the uproar won't hit till the price is above the last uproar price.

I paid 3.40 a gallon the other evening near my house
