I know this has been beat into the ground, but I have misplaced the info on what year ford ranger rear axles to use to change from 4-lug 28 spline to 5-lug 28 spline. I know they have to be drivers side, but I am not sure of the years that will interchange. new to your forum, but I really like what I've seen so far.
Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks for the friendly welcome.
I'm an old stock car/sprint car driver. in 1997 I had an uuuggglllyy accident, knocked out, couldn't walk for 3 days, ect. wanted to build another car, but the Mrs. decided I wouldn't have enough money after the divorce.......you know the scene. decided to build a 34 3 window kit, yeah, I got suckered in by the creeps at Street Beast, now I'm trying to make the most of a bad situation. doing ok so far, trying to get the hood and side panels to line up and look decent, at least from 30 feet and 30 mph. hope to have it up and running by this time next year. work on it as I can afford to. if any of the members have any helpful info, I open to discussion.

What is the connection to the drivers side?  Is one side different than the
other on an 8.8?

The 8.8 Mustang axles are the same width side to side. Rangers and Aerostars the axles are different lengths from side to side.

The ones to use for 5Lug conversion are:

1983-92 Ford Ranger (5-lug) - 2 driver side shafts
or
1986-97 Ford Aerostar (5-lug) - 2 passenger side shafts
If I have to explain it to you, You really wouldn?t understand

Same I come up with Gus.
