I just bought some 1157 equivalent LED bayonet style bulbs to use as third brake lights in the truck bed rolls.

Can I test these by just connecting them to a battery?

Sounds like a simple question but these are totally foreign to me.

Thanks.

yes, but you have to use the correct polarity or they won't work.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Heh, heh, just a coincidence and a bit off topic, but that hasn't stopped me yet.

I just got a box of LED c7 socket blinking replacement Christmas Tree lights.

Heh, heh, they are aceptable in appearance and do blink, the brightness is about the same as my twinkling incandescents.

Only thing is that they blink a bit quicker than I like, but I guess I'll get used to them. Supposedly they will last the rest of my life and use a lot less electricity.

Oh, if I thought I had any chance of being able to keep my 40 Ford, I'd be ordering a set of LED taillights for it.

What, lose the 40? Say it ain't so.
