I can't believe I just sold a Vintage 1968 issue of CARtoons magazine for $15.50 on ebay.

the word "vintage"makes it more valuable.   :D

Oh gee, can you believe this, there was actually a 'Carnuts' magazine.

I probably should keep this one as a souvenir.

Danimal

Nice! Congrats on the steller sale.

Heh, heh, now that you brought it back up, I set an even better record last week with a sale of a DRAG CARtoons magazine for $33.

I was stunned, unfortunately it kinda makes the ones I sold for $15 feel like I only got half price on them, heh, heh,

So far this weekend sales haven't been real good, guess all the buyers already got what they wanted, or the hi dollar guys are out of town or something.

I've always had good luck selling stuff late October thru the first couple of weeks in December...car parts anyway.  I think there's more people holed up getting ready for winter.   But then a lot of people might not have extra money this year.

I've had stuff that I'd have normally thrown away sell for quite a bit.  Some rusty old spark plugs (the big ones) that were in a mouse nest under the seat of a '30 Chevy sold for $75 for a handfull.  Of course the opposite happens too when only one person bids on something you had high hopes for.  Have fun!

of course you can look at it the otherway around, you got twice the value for some of your product.

Oh just in case anyone is interested in what I'm peddling on ebay:

ebay is a fickle place  on sales numbers.  as the purplepickuptruckguyinmichigan says some item you 'think' will sell a bit higher may surprise you at a low price.

I bought a Crosley pickup 'body only' for 400 dollars a few years ago.  Some local Crosley guys had passed on the truck at that price.  I guess they  did not notice the few  rare parts piled  in the bed.     I  sold those parts on ebay for more money than I thought they were worth.

My collection looks like yours. A few years ago, I gave away a few years from the late 70's of Popular Hotrodding and some misc. stuff. This winter, I think I'll go through and see what to sell and what to keep.

Heh, heh, just a note on my ebay adventure.

Looks like the CARtoons magazines were the really hot sellers, I have sold out all my 60's and 70's CARtoons magazines. The best deal was one magazine went for $41 and I just happened to have two of that issue, sold the second one for $24.

Also a good seller is Sports Car Graphic, I had a collection from mid 60's thru to the end of printing in 70's. I have managed to sell all of them. No big sellers but pretty consistent selling with several going to bidders overseas.

I"ve sold to Australia, Canada, France, Netherlands and U.K.

My best seller so far was my 88 Suzuki Samurai Shop Manual that I listed for $19.99 and it sold for $65.

It sure has been fun, but it's also a bit of work making $1500 at $1.99 at a time.

I agree with the "fun but work" comment. About 5 years ago, I sold all my old race car parts. 426, 427sohc, and top fuel stuff. I sold 10 items per week until the stuff was gone. Some went pretty high and most sold reasonable. At the end, one of my friends stated that I had a pretty good garage sale.
