Distributor condenser

Today's question for inquiring minds. I'm using a single points dizzy with an MSD -6A ignition system. In my quest for simplification I wonder if a condenser still needs to be used in the dizzy? It'll run without it but will point life be shorter?

Since you are using the points to trigger the MSD, I don't think one is required. There should not be much current flow there.

Agreed also,the capacitor is there to minimize points burning. If they are not switching any current ,then the points are fine.......Frank.
