58 Yeoman

Quote from: "58 Yeoman"Last I heard, he took the boiler job...too bad, they should've sent him out the gate.  He's not too bright.
Where I worked you could only bid on the boiler job if you had the license. If he has the license than he must have some smarts. If a license is not required than I'd try to get a shift change. Boilers don't only blow-up. They blow out too. GPster

Yeah...he's qualified.  He'll get ojt training with an older operator.  Don't ask me what happened to the licensing of boiler operators.  The boilerhouse is getting a lot of turnaround the last few years; it isn't the gravy job that it used to be, although it is pretty well computerized.  The coal fired boiler is getting old, and breaks down often.  Then they have to crank up the two gas fireds, and they can't keep up with the load.  I can see a major overhaul coming sometime in the future.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't screw up bigtime there.
I survived the Hyfrecator 2000.
