Also ,modern, wider ,stickier tires probably load that chassis more than tires were capable of 50 years ago. Might have something to do with it.

Solid points for you Matt and for Chimp as well. Outdated engineering, increased horsepower, stickier tires, and 50 year old sheetmetal all gang up to create chassis flex. The Pro-Touring guys sometimes find that with track day cars running optimized suspension geometry and 315 width, 200 treadwear-rated tires even stock muscle car wheel bearings are marginal to the extra loads.

All that plus a bag of chips. :) Last I heard, the Pantera took up smoking and our hero suspected a broken ring. Fairly recently. Ouch.

If you can believe it and heres proof, one with 335s out back popped in today. Belongs to the same guy as the Dynacorn bodied Camaro job. I like this orange much better. 8)  You do know why, right?

Right now we have two Broncos going and theres always two of something around, it seems. But good grief, two dudes with orange Panteras?  I reckon some of the old boys around here done alright for themselves. Sheesh! :-o

It sounded mighty healthy. 8) I did not snoop around for cracking. If yours ain't cracked, what are you... gettin' old? If something is yours, you get to knock on it a little. :0-0

Man O Man O Man O Man!!!

I am a closet pantera addict. I am drooling and trying to keep my chin dry.    If money were no object I would be having one in my stable right now. I really like that car.... :D  :D  :D  :)      8)

Well, if you're gonna dream, dream big I reckon. :)  Chin-mounted drool buckets available upon request, please empty them into the drool moat when filled.

The guy with this thread's hero car is always smiling and nice as can be. Which is remarkable given the obstacles one must face to put one in fun condition. For example I hear theres only one human left willing to tackle a transaxle. You don't get to ask any questions or have any involvement. Twelve grand and wait.

I don't have enough fingers and toes to delve into numbers with commas in them. :?  But healthy Panteras seem like huge fun...

IF you are into sports cars and or Fords.

You aren't alone in that closet, thats for sure. :!:

Looks good in orange. There was one that showed up at the Goodland show several times. Tired and worn out would be it's description. People just walked by it. :)
