Customer was thrilled as can be with it. Aaaand now he wants stripes over the top. Black, I think. Personally I hope it gets the script down the side like it had.

And big wire wheels! 8)

The owner is tickled orange, he saw one sell for six figures. I promise that color is very orange in person, but reds are the toughest to translate through pics. They are getting ready to stripe it-

I haven't seen the wheels but they ain't tru spokes  I just want to see eight stacks on a 351 in person. :)

Would 8 on a 302 make you smile?

Well yeah  8)  But I get geeky around Tri-Power too.

You gotta know the Pantera engine compartment thing makes that exotic.

That oughtta knock their fancy socks off!

I gotta say, that is definitely going to be an exciting car to own and operate. 8)  The transformation is remarkable and the value jump ought to be substantial. :!:

There's a lot of 351C parts available now to make that really interesting. I've never talked to an owner. I wonder how they compare to modern cars in the driving exp. ? I would expect them to be noisy and have far less braking than new stuff.

Don't leave out hot. I bet it is hot in there.

I don't think our guy has pushed it like a race car but he has owned it a long time and has had it on a track. No plans for that in the future but trying to imagine the experience in comparison to say a plain new stang GT, it is probably clumsy. Only thing I know is that in good videogames, the mid engine stuff requires learning a whole new set of physics. One guy stopped by my stall to jaw about it and said he tried turning with a couple Panteras and they were a pesky act to follow. Meaning, to me, that if properly manhandled they are a threat. Not unlike my supercharged stock daily car. Glass transmission but if you are kind to it, and you've learned how to toss the car about... you might have something. Comfort would probably not be that thing though in this case. I refer you to the Catalina, which would be an interesting match up for the slalom.

Well, the whole point of a mid engined car is low polar moment of inertia, meaning it has very little resistance to rotating into the corner. It makes them quite nimble, but anything that can change the attitude of the car will do it really fast.

I love watching the current generation of Indycars. They're like watching gigantic, highly powered go karts, constantly trying to get away from the drivers only to be gathered up again and again.
