Quotejust how long does it have to set up before the intake is sat back on. Jeff

It's not really critical, as long as you can set the manifold straight down. If you are in an awkward position, let it skin up before installing the intake.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

i never have that luxury of time....
it goes down wet no matter what.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it\'s still on my list

I usually glue the seal down with contact cement on the block so it doesn't move and then I smear a bit of silastic over the seal and a blob on each end of the seal. No problems.
But you usually find it's experience that seals it.
I maybe from down under but I know which way is up.
Oh hell there goes another head rush.

I created the leak during the install  years ago....   I used the silicone ultrablack as tomslik mentions..

I smeared some on the engine block and the manny fold.  BUT , I dorked off too long and the silicone setup a bit more than I realized.

So the silly cone did not meld together as it would have IF the sillycone was soft &  gooey as it should have been .  So the intake  had a small leak at the back side .
