I love all you guys, besides Rob, marty and the grandkids, your the only family I now have left.
I want to thank everyone for everything, the kinds words, the phone calls and just being there. Believe me I need you!!!

As river1 said it does seem harder to have lost him this way. with mom she was so ill it became somewhat of a blessing to not see her suffer.
and in the irony of all this, we buried mom on this day 3 yrs ago
so this is making things a little hard to deal with.

I received the call from my stepmom when I walked into work this morn. I was needless to say devistated. They called rob at work to come and get me. Thank God they were there for me.

I had only seen dad once since xmas, when they stopped by to thank us for their dinner gift certf. that they had just used.
but I called my dad last night out of the blue, we didn't talk long but at least I know i talked to him.

I was very close to my dad, growing up as an only child, with my mother so ill, dad and I did everything together, car shows, races, fishing....and just stuff!!!
He's the reason I am so into cars. how ironic that he lost his life for that.

It was so like my dad to go to get the keys. Its horrible, they found him not more than 2 feet from the door. Hopefully the smoke overcame him and he had no pain.
I am really still in shock, and my poor stepmom has lost everthing, the house is gone and everything in it.

thanks everyone I love each and every one of you and I just don't have the words to say what all your prayers and thoughts mean.

Enjenjo, I will contact you later, won't be up this weekend. Hope all is well,
Debb
