Most of it was cut with an Iron worker, http://www.megamfg.com/SingleOperatorIW_P-50.html

Some is cut with a bandsaw, http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200365120_200365120

Things like the brake pedal I cut with a torch. I am very good with a torch.

I also make some of the pieces on a lathe.

I finish the parts with a belt sander, http://www.amazon.com/Valumaster-SP025-Combo-Sander-Grinder/dp/B00065U4ZK

I'll post some in progress pictures.

I have wanted to buy an iron worker for sometime. I don't have space for it so if I'm doing a bunch of brackets, I go to the machine shop and rent theirs. I used to be good with a torch. In the last 20 years, I've almost quit using it. I like most of the brackets that you've made since I've been a member but I didn't think you had any really modern cutter hiding in the corner. Good job Frank.

I've had my ironworker for 22 years, bought it new, did work for others on it until it paid for itself.

On to what I did today. My son and his family left for Las Vegas today, so I did not get out there until 730 pm. I just came in, so what I did was done in about 1.5 hours.

This one is fighting too. The new electric vacuum pump is defective, waiting for another one.

This just ain't my year. The replacement vacuum pump came in today. The first one would not shut off. The replacement would not run at all. They are supposed to have another one for me thursday. Name brand pumps with a 1 year warrentee.

I got the brakes all together, ran the lines, I still have to bleed them. More pictures comming up.

Oh, the new air conditioner I bought for the shop took a  dump too.

Looks pretty darned good.  You could step on that pedal with confidence.

I'm currently reading the June/2011 Motor Trend and happened across something that has some application here.  Seems one of their test cars had a sudden, complete brake failure.  The pedal was assembled with the clevis entirely on one side of the pedal, putting the pin in single shear.  Shear it did, and the pedal harmlessly slid past the clevis without applying the brakes.

Idiot proofing has limits, I guess.
