Tony, Im glad to see you can work on transmissions.

As an artist/designer you would starve, did you use a cad program for that?

I like the squiggly marks that represent air flow :D

Glen, Glen, so young but his eyes are not open.

Crosley said in his original post:
QuoteI posted a photo of the diagram he drew for the exposed ductwork.

For perhaps $$10k he may have used a compter powered pencil?

Here is what I am going to build.  I am going to frame the ductwork that flows from  the ground level  up the wall to where the spiral ductwork will begin in metal studs.  I will form the curved angles inside the frame work to help the air turn before I sheet rock the frame. I will attach the round spiral ductwork to this and run it across the shop's ceiling.

River1  : I need ductwork from the unit through the wall to my planned framed in ductwork.  Installing the round ductwork is simple stuff. Cutting and fitting metal from the unit through the wall is something I may attempt too.

Reminds me of the Saturday Night Live show with Mike Myers and his "drawrings"

all these answers i got from my buddy steve the papers HVAC guy

Quote from: "Crosley"I need to make some calls next week to find a supplier of spiral duct parts & pieces.

he said to try

Phoenix Sheet Metal and AC Supply (PSM)
1302 W Hatcher Rd
PHX AZ 85021
602-997-6236

Quote from: "Crosley"The biggest deal is the duct work that passes through the exterior wall from the unit, then turns up towards the ceiling where the sprial ducts will be.  I am not sure how I will build that part ... yet

he said to go to PSM with what you need done and the measurements and they will be able to draw it out for you and answer ALL your questions.

Quote from: "Crosley"The only reason I would use an insulated metal duct is cut the noise down.

the two HVAC guys differed on their opinion as to the need for insulated.

steve said to ask for JB at PSM and tell him he sent you. JB's wife is retired newspaper. he may even give you a cheaper price tho he may not.
he said the guys there do this, helping with design, all day long.

both HVAC guys agreed that 7000 is prolly pretty high tho not knowing duct size to be sure.

PSM also might be able to point you towards a supplier closer to your domicile

hope this all helps jim

I can't catch a break on this a/c deal.

The sheet metal contact guy jim's co-worker recommended is on vacation... OK  I envy him LOL

A friend :?:  said he would do some quick CAD drawings from measurements I have to aid the sheet metal guys as a place to start from.  I figure the better we start........ the better the final product is

I've been waiting  to get the drawing.  Most likely will not have the drawring in hand this week... dammit

I probably will have this stuff finished in time to heat the shop in january 05
