Thank you, Bill. :)

Have a merry Christmas!

I may have mentioned playing a very small part in the 3 week surprise restoration of boss's wife's old truck (her first new vehicle). Here it is. They ditched moldings and chrome and added roll pan and wheels. Maybe she will see it today. We are working half the day. She makes delicious cupcakes for us occasionally. :P

Home Depot was out of 1/2 inch sheet rock on sunday. Across the street is Lowes.  6 sheets bought as I mentioned in another post.... Only 1 new sheet remains? Where did 5 sheets go? LOL

My new wall has sheet rock on it. My wife was a great help on this as usual . She is never afraid to jump in to help with stuff.

I measured , checked, re-checked and then cut the hole for the living room side outlet cattywhompus as the photo shows. Not to be out done: next outlet on kitchen side was cut 3/4 inch too low.  Repaired both of them. LOL

Nailed down some metal corner bead material too. There were  cracks that were next to the HVAC vent, dug that out. Some paper tape , hot mud repair.

At 7pm I was mounting some folding brackets in the laundry room,. Wife wanted a folding wall table to fold clothes on.  Brackets mounted after I sanded the wall. Previous owner did not believe in smoother flatter walls? Slap on drywall mud over screws and Its good? (no photo)

Couple weeks ago: I modified the kitchen plumbing back to OEM config for sink to be under the window as my wife wants. New freeze proof sill-cock for outdoor use.. Modified the outlet for dish washer electric and a garbage disposal..  Previous owner had sink at an angle couple feet from the window. He had raw romex wires running under the sink for diposal and dishwasher electric

Also we installed a new dual pane, E gas, high altitude window in the kitchen. It is soooo much better than the OEM aluminum frame , worn out , single pane window.  Way less cold coming in now.

Thanks, jaybee. I thought the truck was much better but maybe I need to think about trying more wildlife. And backgrounds!

I kinda (?) covered my kitchen pipes with sheet rock.  Some insulation was placed too.  Likely I will Not tape and finish this wall section since it is behind cabinets?

Couple weeks ago , in my spare time.  I built 3 six foot tall lighted candy canes for yard Christmas decorations. Basic 3/4 inch PVC pipe heated with H-Freight heat gun, bent around a fixture with my wifes help.

Then I bought some white pool noodles (Amazon), red duct tape, LED string lites (Amazon) in red , blue and white colors.  The LED lites string is actually turned with the diodes inside so the noodle is lit up. Purty kool effect.

Noodles were slid over the PVC pipe ( not fun, PITA really)... Then red tape for the spiral effect.

Thanks John...  The candy canes are on ver-3.0 for lights.  I tried basic led mini lites wrapped on the canes.  Wife said: All I see is the mini lites.

Ver-2.0 was Amazon led string white lites with diodes outside.  WIfe said: the lites are too bright.

Ver-3.0 : I turned the led string around, diodes against the pool noodle.  WIfe is happy. It is still bright, but looks kool.

So: I bought some red and blue led string lites from Amazon for red - white - blue candy canes with led diodes facing the noodle.

The red duct tape has some wrinkles in it.  I tried as I could to keep the tape flat as possible.  I guess you could say the candy canes in daylight are 10 footers. LOL

I will build something different for 2025 Christmas season.  My mom loved the holidays starting with Halloween thru new years.

My niece text me a few daze ago.  Her brother has been located. That was easy. He called from jail wanting to talk to his mom for bail money again. Its the 4th time this year as near as I can find out online from various Arizona arrest  websites.

My brother (his dad) had to explain to his son  that mom had died 2 weeks ago.  There will be no bail money any longer.  I found a mugshot from my nephew's arrest in July 2024.. Holy smokes, the 40 year old  guy looks rough , angry, po'd in the photo. I sent the photo to his sister to view.  Her comments were a bit stronger than mine.

A few years ago , my brother stopped posting bail for his son.  HE figured the state/county/city  could deal with his son. The son would get arrested. Dad would post bail. Son never shows up for next court date. Bench warrant issued. Son arrested again at some point. Spends time in jail for prior violation arrest.  Released , then repeat in a few weeks or months.

So... the son would call his mom for bail money.  Mom is gone now.

Either last year or this year, I don't remember with all that's been going on with my health this year, I replaced the rear window in the Corvair.  I used the 3M sealant 'rope' from the Corvair supplier for both front and rear windshields and it worked great. They even supply the two rubber spacer blocks for the bottom of the windows, but having removed the rear air intake grille, I didn't use the blocks to hold up the window.  Didn't think it would slide, being that it is so sticky.  I noticed it a few days later, so I installed metal screws in the holes that hold the grille panel in place with vacuum hose on them to keep it up.

Fast forward to yesterday when I'm reinstalling the panel and find that the window has slid more than I thought, and I have metal to glass contact in the bottom center.  Hmmm, not wanting it to cause a cracked window later, I decided to remove the window and replace the 'rope.'  Wow, easier said than done.  The old rope had come out easily with wire, but this stuff is still so fresh, it just reseals itself.  I've had the wire all the way around, and the window will not budge.

I've modified a small screwdriver and double ended pick to dig out the rope where it's high enough to get in there to lessen the gripping power the next time I run the wire through.  It will probably take at least a week for the new rope to come through the mail anyway, with it being a holiday week.

Funny thing about this sealant is the Corvair supplier sells 3/16" rope, where everyone else sells either 1/4" or 3/8".  NAPA sells 1/4", and I was going to order from them and have it in a day, but then I needed a few other things, so I ordered from the Corvair site and paid the almost $20 shipping USPS.  It's only money, right?

I'll probably be out there digging away again today at that infernal rope.

On the lighter side, we live in the country and our house faces the woods, the garage doors face the county road, so we can't see if someone drives up.  I've installed a camera in front of the garage and we have a monitor in the dining room so we can see if someone is coming up the drive.  We were sitting at the table yesterday having lunch when I saw a doe running across our drive with an eight point buck running after her (it's rutting season). A few seconds later, we saw them through the front window, then we ran to the back bedroom to watch them run through the back yard, through the ravine and up the other side and into the woods. We get a lot of does around us, but few bucks.
