FYI, if you put turn-downs right out of the Mufflers, It will blow dust and grass clippings freaking EVERYWHERE! Having said that, a good 10 inches of pipe after the muffler will quiet it down a lot more that you realize. Ive learned both of these tidbits by trial and error.

Good looking truck by the way!

I know this isnt the most traditional, but its what I have to have for use and drivability with the Family and all. So Im hoping someone can add some helpful and useful information:

Anyone Install A/C and still keep the cowel vent on a 1933-34 Ford Car? Its on a 1934 Ford Sedan to be specific. Id like to be able to keep the Vent, to use in the Fall and Spring, yet use the A/C when the Wife and Daughter are with me and during the Summer Months. On my daily, I always have the windows down and the A/C on.

Its a Vintage Air Kit with the Gen II Compac. The Tech guy said the Micro would absolutly not cool a Sedan, and tried to get me to buy the bigger one, so I went with the Middle one. The link below is a picture of the unit in Question.

If I have to lose the Vent, Im Ok with that, but obovosouly, if you guys came up with something clever and have crossed this path before , please let me know.

Id be much happier losing the Glove Box totally, than the Cowel Vent, but if it has to go, then so be it.

Thanks

Thats right, it was a F1......... I didnt doo too much to that truck, and neither did the owner that bought it, nor the one after him if I remember correctly. That was a good truck, just needed some love. I hope it found a good home.

Wish you guys could have stayed longer. Bums! :D

Rodder's Roundtable / Power Window Kit opnions wanted

Wow, never thought I'd get such a varied response!

When I asked what fan, everyone answered Spal! And I really like the fan I got.

I was really hoping for kinda a unanimous (SP) decision here too.

Any other Opnions? I see two votes for NuRelics, One for Specality, one for Its a Snap.

Rodder's Roundtable / SBC Tranny opnions wanted please

Hi all. Im needing opnions and info please.

I have a SBC 305 on my 1934 Sedan with a Turbo 350 in it now, and a 8 inch rear with somewhere between 3:73 to 4:11 gears in the rear end.  My current tranny loses 3rd gear after a few miles if running nad needs rebuilt anyway, but I prefer to toss it for something more street usable. Id like to use this car on long trips since I cannot get the 35 PU out of town its sucha  gas hog.

I must change the tranny to something that will run better on the road. I cannot get it above 65 w/o it seeming like it is going to explode.

I personally was leaning towards a 700R4, but my local tranny guy thinks I should go with Chevy newer tranny (4L60EIEIO........whatever the letters and numbers are) as he says it is a true 4 speed auto tranny instead of a 3 speed with a overdrive.

I understand Ill have to change the driveshaft out  , and install a TV cable too. But what else will I need?

Should I used the 700R4, or the newer tranny? Im not opposed to putting in the computer stuff to control the newer tranny if it will be a better tranny.

GIVE ME YOUR OPNIONS Please, and your advice and Experience!

Thanks.

Rodder's Roundtable / electric fan question
April 06, 2007, 10:35:21 PM
I used the same Spal Fan from Summit. I havent used a shroud yet. Ive only had it running since about August of last year. I have NOT ran around with the hood on yet, but have ran it in over 100 degree weather. I has only kicked on a few times and seems to cool it just fine. Ill know more after this summer. That fan moves a LOT of air!

I agree. I believe a little taller tire in the front would really make you happier with that combo.

Mine is in the intake manifold. Ford put it there, I choose to be a sheep and follow their thought.
