Could someone tell me which is better............... have the temp sensor in the rad hose neck or in the head. I hate the in the neck type as they seem sort of "hay wire".
what\'s that noise,,,,,, never mind I\'ll check it later

Mine is in the intake manifold. Ford put it there, I choose to be a sheep and follow their thought.

If you can put it in the head, that is probly the best. This way your fan turns on when an expensive heat sink gets hot, instead of waiting for a lesser item (intake or radiator). Althouh marginal, coolant will do what it is supposed to do and cool off so what you read in the radiator may be less then what the head temp is. Now if you are like me, IT DOES NOT MATTER CAUSE I ONLY LOOK AT THE GAS GAUGE.(occasionally)

I like the ones that have a probe you place into your radiator fins.  I place them just underneath the upper radiator hose inlet.  It will then sense the hot water comming out of the  engine and turn the fan on.  They are adjustable and you can tune your fan to come on at whatever temperature you want.
