Rodder's Roundtable / To Moondisc
October 28, 2004, 10:23:17 AM
Quote from: "moondisc"I had a US Radiator in my 37, and I wasn't at all happy with it.
It sprung leaks around the filler neck, top hose connection and top tank.
What did you replace it with? or did you repair it? MH

Rodder's Roundtable / Multi-pass radiators

Ok, when you talk about multi-pass aluminum radiators are you talking about the style that Griffin makes?  I'm running a stock radiator w/o shroud on my woodie and am in the process of replacing it with aftermarket, want to get all of the input possible before $$$ walker vs. griffin vs. US Radiator etc.  I will definitly be using a cooling components electric fan and shroud combo.

Rodder's Roundtable / Answers and Thanks!

A LOT of very nice comments about my cars.  Thanks to all of you it is very easy on the ears.

About the cars/truck, all three are running 350/350s.  I've done the most work on the woodie as it was in pretty bad condition (or I couldn't have afforded it) when I traded for it about 10 years ago.  The trade was made at the NSRA nats in Loisville and we ended up cutting the power steering belt off the car and driving all of the way back to Oklahoma without power steering.  Virtually everything under the car has been rebuilt or re-engineered to correct some terrible mistakes.  New interior, stereo, steering, engine, transmission, sway bars, panhard bar, instruments and extensive repair to frame. I'm not sure how the guy got it to Loisville because it was dangerous. Until we cut the belt off the steering would lock up on center which is great fun at 70 mph

The '64 is pretty much as I purchased it, chopped top and all other than correcting a badly rusted gas tank, gummed up carburetor, poor instrument install & wiring and changing to new American Salt-Flats which really improved the appearance.

The Pontiac is pretty much as purchased (I haven't even changed the oil since I bought it)  Just got it in June of this year and have taken it to the Pontiac Nationals in Joplin and for the most part drive it every day.

The main thing is the cars are fun, they are not even remotely close to perfect but suit me just fine and who can tell they aren't perfect when they go by at 70. MH

Quote from: "WZ JUNK"Welcome.  You can not be far from me.

Actually I'm in Muskogee, have lived most of my life (but not all of it, yet) in the Muskogee - Tahlequah area. There is an awesome salvage yard up in your area that I went to about 10 years ago. Can't remember where it was or the name of it but they had a TON of old stuff.

Don't know of any members in this area but I'll check through the members list (if I get access) and see.  Know a lot of folks with some fine old cars so quite likely I will know some. MH

Just registered on this site after lurking for a while.  Seems like a good crew with a ton of accumulated knowledge.  Doubt that I'll contribute much to the knowledge base but it won't stop me from trying. Looking forward to getting to know the personalities better.
I just tried to register on the RRT fellow pages and it comes up "Internal Server Error" stating that something is amiss at the RRT server. Anyone know if this is an ongoing problem?
