Trying to plan a trip this summer and was thinking going to the Hot Rod Nationals in Indy. Know a lot of you guys live close to there and would like your input on the show.

If you are an entrant do you have to pay extra to watch the drags or are they included in the registration cost.

Any information you can provide would be helpful.

thanks

Your entry fee is all you need to wander anywhere on the property....pits, grandstands, swap....

There's a pretty good history of raining on that weekend so take an umbrella.

To get you in the mood, here's some pics from last year. http://www.roddingroundtable.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8987&highlight=indy

It will be nice to see you again Bob, it's been way too long.  There are two great parties that weekend, one on Friday night at Bubba's shop in Gasoline Alley and aat Tom Culbertsons shop on Saturday.  I'll post more detailed info when the time gets closer.

George is waaaay too subtle..... What he really means is " Take every piece of rain gear you own...Extra clothes ...And a personal floatation device.. ..." :!:  Oh...  Can't forget the mud.....  You do have "All season" tires, correct  :?:  :?:

HMMM... I lived in Indiana for two years.. and it poured every Goodguys weekend I was there, and over heard vendors talking that it had rained the two or three years prior.... OOOOO and last year it rained so hard... 500 year flood in Terre Haute, 45 minutes away... portions of I-70 got washed out....
Would plastic be okay for you today?

Kinda thought I'd remembered that from last year. Maybe we will look for another location. Anybody coming to Lincoln for the Oreilly's  30th Hot Rod Nationals may 29-31 ????

Bob, I've been to MANY , many GG events in Indy over the years where the weather has been picture perfect.  It really is an awesome event and if you've never been you really should check it out.

Yeah....what Denise said.  Indy is the best midwest Goodguys event by far.  If you've never been there you should go.

Not much compares to a weekend of hanging out with friends and watching front engined top fuel dragsters, gassers, altereds with blown hemi's, super stocks and all that cool 60's stuff.

It's been a tradition for a few of us for quite a few years but I think some of us might go to Bowling Green this year instead.

Are you talking about the HRR in Bowling Green in June or the GG event there in Oct?  If you've never been to Beech Bend it will become your most favorite venue to see vintage drag racing.  I'll see ya there.

Yes...NHRA HHR in June.  I think WZJUNK & Co are going.  For me, it depends on if I get my first retirement check by then....gotta wait 3 months.

I sure hope you can make it George.  You will love it WAY more then then the Indy venue.  Lots of cruzn around, trees, grass in the pit area, covered grandstands that are basicly right on the dragstrip.

I know your not much into sharing rooms BUT if you want it sure helps with expenses.  I've got a room already and not sure exactly who's sharing yet.  Megan is thinking about going and so is this local drag racing photographer friend of mine.  If you'd like to share, you are more then welcome to share with us.

It will be nice to see the MO boys at that event, they're alot of fun to hang out with.
