There's a good chance I'll be sending a Chevy Lumina to the junkyard some time soon.  I know there've been a couple of "what can I use" threads lately, but here we go again.  Before going off to die I see this car giving up its rear seat lower (if it's close to the right width for the rear of a '57 Chevy), Heater/Air unit, maybe the fuse block, electric cooling fan, possibly the fuel door (not too get too detailed, but I might put a fender-mounted fuel door in my '57), any other suggestions?  This looks to have one of those "shorty" steering columns that bolts up under the dash with u-jointed shafts through the firewall.  How hard are those to put in a "regular" car?

Not hard at all. You need to make a couple mounts, and that's it. Be sure to get the firewall shaft seal too. The best part, if it;s a colmn shift, it's set up for a cable instead of linkage
