I will be getting to the point where I need to buy front tires soon. The ideal size would be 24"dia. with 5" or so section width on a 15x3.5" rim. Preferably a bias ply as the best rear tire I can find size wise is a bias ply. They have to be DOT tires and I have checked the drag fronts of the right size and they are "not for highway use".Any suggestions?

Have you looked at the Coker Tire website? Seems like you should be able to find the right size bias ply there.

Here's the Diamondback web site.  Don't think they carry anything but radials but there are a lot of different styles and sizes available.  I post this cause I'm a very satisfied Diamondback customer.

I use a Nankang tire on 15x4 wheel.  it is a radial though.

To throw another ice cube on the fire, I think to find any DOT approved tire that will run on a 3 1/2" wide rim you're going to be looking at motorcycle tires. Then you'll be looking at weight restrictions. Sometimes the old time look and the new time use and restrictions don't mix very well. GPster

This a good tool. ....for radials

145/65/15 are an inch too short, 155/80/15 are an inch too tall.

I run 145/65's on the front of my bug

thanks guys ,I may end up having to go radial all around. Does anyone know of some wide radials for 14" wide x 15" rims. I need to keep section width at 17" ,17.4" max and I would like 14" of tread at least. M/T sportsman makes a 29odx17.4wide 15.5 tread bias ply tire that I would like to use but unless I can find skinny bias plys for the front I may have to look for a rear radial.my Anglia has a 90" wheelbase and a likely 600hp on the bottle. With mismatched tires I can only imagine how many cartwheels I would turn at speed!
