I know a lot of you guys are active over on the H.A.M.B., I just lurk there a few times a week.  Anyway, my son Tim called me tonight and said the info is up over there about the 2009 Billetproof meet.  We went in 2008 and had a great day so I jumped on the preregistration form and made it in for 2009.  Tim said there was a cut off of around 600 cars so wanted to make sure any of you Florida boys that don't  H.A.M.B. it up got the word.  Here's the info.

Thanks Lee! We Poor Boys look forward to seeing everybody... Make sure if you want to come, you register early... Last year was the first year and we got almost double the amount of cars we thought we'd get.

This year should be bigger... And we will probably be nit-pickier... Keep in mind a billet dipstick handle is not going to get you turned away, but a pastel peach '37 Ford on Boyds wheels will. email Alan a picture if your you think you might be on the cusp. We aren't trying to exclude anybody, we just want a certain old-fashioned vibe. Come anyway, spectators are free, it's very laid back atmosphere. No alcohol will be served at the show.

There is a before party down the road at a place called "No Where", the parking lot is a mini car show and they had a BBQ last year.

This year will will be opening up the area where would put spectators last year, and Big is going to get the lot across the street from his house mowed for spectator parking. We are also adding more food vendors so you don't have to wait so long in line.

With your registration, you get a free ticket to Don's mueseum(s), which is worth the price in itself. Ask somebody who has been.

Show up early...

Best of show last year:

Pastel, but OK

Hope you aren't fond of sleep...

You mean you haven't fixed that door yet? Did you try the coat hanger?

I registered just before I started this thread back on the 27th.  Last year I sent Alan a couple of pics of my '32 and he said no problemo.  Guess that means I'll be OK again this year.  Looking forward to it.

Nope... I did try the coat hanger... it did not work.. I have to pull off the dor panel and I have been busy and not motivated to do it...

Kinda sucks not having anyone to hang out with in the garage when I am working on the car,,, kinda takes a lot of the fun out of it for me...

Door was opened today.. panel is off and fix is soon to be had... I had lots of help, but it is done... some how both the inside handle and outside handle became disconnected from the latch... Per Jacks's advice we are going to install and new latch.. to correct the problem once and for all...

I had a good car day today  );b(

Speaking of BilletProof.  Got my registration back the other day.  My registation number is 14.  It says the gate does not open until 9:00 AM.  Guess I can sleep in until 5:00 before heading up.

Good for you Don. Now you won't wear the seat out sliding across all the time. Bet it seems good to be able to open the door again

Everybody ready!!!!

I'm kinda giddy myself, now that I have a running driving hot rod...

Lee, since most all of the registrations will be pre-registrations, the only thing may be waiting behind people who didn't pre-register getting turned away at the gate... Lat year we had 300 pre-registrations and 600 showed up... this year, we have close to 500 pre-registrations...

If you are not pre registered and you show up after 10, you might as well go straight to the spectator lot and come on in and hang out with us and Big Daddy...

This year we have more room, more food, more bands, more vendors, a bigger swap meet, bigger spectator parking area... and don't forget the pre and post parties at the No Where bar, right down the street...

Mike, does the participant gate really open at 9:00 AM like Denise said?  Not doubting you Denise, it just seems a bit late in the morning to start the cars coming into the property.  Another question, where will the spectator parking be this year?  Same as last year or a new location?

Participant gate opens at 9 am, the vendors need to get in and set up before the participants... This is a one day event.

Spectator parking will be just past the entrance to Garlits, at the horse track next door... please do NOT do anything immature with your gas pedal in there, we have to pay to have it re-graded/re-sodded.

At this point it is too late to get pre-registrered...

We should have a better system for letting participants in this year, since most will be preregistered, the pre-registered people should have their numbered sheet thing printed out that Alan sent them and have it on the dash and/or ready.

The few spots that will be left for day of show registrations will go fast, so be there early if you are not pre-registered.

The Pre-party is at the No Where Bar Friday Night... Bench racing in each hotel parking lot.

8970 SW 27th Ave, Ocala, FL 34476, right down SW 16th Ave from Garlits museum's front door. Just put in this addres in the "to" and "Garlits" in the from.

Mike, saw you several times during the day but you were always on the move working your butt off.  Great show with some nice improvements over last year thanks to you and your fellow Poor Boys.  Ol' Normspeed is still in shock from winning the wagon award for his '53 Plymouth and teardrop.  We both had a great time.  Thanks.
