What MPG are you getting in your ride ?
I get 22 and 21 w/air highway 15 city.
I have an EFI 355 Chevy 700r4 with 3.55 rear gear.

I have a ZZ4/700R4 combo in my '40 Chevy with a 600 Holley, 3.55 gears. The trip to Bonneville a couple years ago, around 7000 miles saw an overall average of 16.5 mpg. It'll touch the low 20's as well as low teens. EFI would probably improve it some.

BBC 10-14 but mostly12-13. All depends on the foot. I also have to run 91 octane. I have put 89 in it but, the rattle fest is on... usually by mistake. We aren't going on 50 -100 mile drive in the evenings anymore. But we do take it if we are going out to eat or shopping. I figure we were going anyway so we might as well take the Coupe.

13-15 in the Impala.  4400 pounds, 3:08 gears, no overdrive  ZZ502,  4000+ foot altitude here.  Can't complain.

24 MPG to Columbus, 22 MPG while there and returning home
SBC, 600cfm Edelbrock, 2.73 gears.

crate 425hp/454, 700R4, 3.42 gear, 3700 lbs I've pulled as high as 19.6mpg and depending on the quality of the gas and the conditions generally run 17-19 on the highway. The 19.6 was in June running down to Goodguys Indy at 62-65 mph. Around town I tend to be a little heavy footed and it down around 12mpg

In the 1200 miles I put on the 32, it has made 20 on the highway and 10 around town. I'm changing some stuff on the efi while it's down for repaint but I don't know why the town mileage is so poor. 5.0 efi, 5 speed, 3.50 gears. Weighs almost 2900 lbs.

Got 18 mpg to Good Guys Indy running 65-70mph.  built 350, turbo 400 and either 2:73 or 3:08 gears.  Coming home was a little less bumper to bumper after 70 was closed.  Curious to see hoe it does this weekend.

55 chevy gets 16mpg on a good day and about 11 on a fun day.  325 h.p. 283, M-20 and 3:70 gears

350-350hp "Early LT1"....700R4-3:42 gears--29" tires...3200 lbs.. As aerodynamic as a house brick..I normally get 17-19 running 70-80ish with air on....Trans & lock up convertor & 600cfm Holley is the secret....

The Marlin has a 460 cube BBC, Dual 650 Edelbrock carbs, a Hi Energy 290 cam, 350 turbo, 3.50 gear, and 16 by 31" tires. Gets 13 to 14 mpg on the road, 10 around town.

I get between 20 and 22 mpg on the highway using the cruise control set at about 63.  If I bump it up to 70-ish it drops to 19-ish.   In town it drops a lot...probably because my foot gets heavy more often.  

350 ZZ motor with a 600 Edelbrock, 350 tranny, & 3.36 gears.  

I've experimented with a 750 carb and only got 15-17 on the highway with cruise set at 70.

The truck weighs about 3400# with just me and a tank of gas in it.

32 Ford roadster, 462" Buick engine, very mild cam, 750 cfm Edelbrock on a Performer intake, home-made headers that flow pretty good, 9.0/1 compression, 87 octane summer or winter, 3.70 gears and 30" tall tires.

10-12 mpg around town, mileage gets knocked back when I run the three miles across town on the freeway.
Ain't on-ramps fun?

16-17 mpg on the highway, running it at the 75 mph speed limit gets about 16 and 65 = 17.


Interestingly, when I ran the big cam 288-292 advertised duration and the dual 500 cfm Carters on a medium rise intake with straight linkage mpg in town was 10-11 and on the highway about 1 mpg less.

I have a 3.00 diff in very good shape that I got in a swap and after the Kingman Street Drags in early September the 3.00's go in.
Same height tire and from what I hear in talking to the other hot rodders here in town it should improve mpg considerably.
Fwiw - experienced, no BS guys which can be hard to find sometimes.

In-town mileage in the above configuration with the single 750 improved about 1 mpg when I jetted & rodded the carb for the altitude.
3300' and two steps lean on the Edelbrock chart.

The car runs great down at the river with it's about 500' altitude.
Considering that Edelbrock delivers the carb jetted about 15% rich for the expected engine size - IE: 600 cfm for a 350 cid engine - I'd be inclined to jet down two steps clear down to sea level.

Don't forget to swap metering rod springs if you're running a hotter'n stock cam....
