I'm trying to figure out how many people might be coming by my place this year so I can plan where we will go on Friday.  I want to go someplace new with everyone.  I need to know how many people will be here with a high ground clearance vehicle, it doesn't need to be 4 wheel drive.

The plan is to take people out sightseeing on Friday the 15th and maybe before if anyone shows up.  If you want to go out on Friday you have to be here Thursday night.  The number for the Super 8 across the street is (435) 678-3880.  They haven't been filling up most nights, but it might not hurt to call them and make a reservation if you need a room.  If you have a camp trailer or such we can figure out something at my place.

Friday night we will have our barbecue as usual.

We will leave Sat. morning for the west of Salt Lake City area if you need a motel room and I'll probably go over to the "bend in the road" and camp.

They open the salt at 7 am on Sunday, so I'll go out and save a pit location and when Hooley and John and Patrick get there we will setup the pits and tech the car.  We could use help with this.

Monday morning racing begins after driver's meeting.

I think John, Hooley and Patrick are trying to get to my place Thursday evening with the race car.  There is at least one other race team out of Texas that plans on getting to my place on Friday for the barbecue that night.

So who is coming and what are you driving and when do you expect to get to Blanding?

I will be there by mid-week Sum. I will have the Trailblazer towing the orange trailer with the orange car inside. The trailer will be my camper this trip. I'll probably set up at the campground across the way - assuming it is still in business.

I'm planning to leave on Saturday the 9th and be in Blanding by Wednesday.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

It will be a bonzi run to the Salt this year so unfortunantly Megan and I will not be stopping in Blanding even though it was one of our favorite activities of our trip last year.

We are leaving Detroit at 4pm on Thursday Aug 14th and plan to be on the Salt by noon on Sunday for Tech.  We will do whatever is necessary to help you guys set up camp and help with tech....or just stay outta the way.

We plan on leaving Wendover mid-week to head to Joplin for the HAMB Drags.

I had a plan to return again this year:

NSRA Nats, to Blanding, on to Bonneville and then to Pleasanton.

The Empire apparently needs me elsewhere, so I'll be dining on raw fish and boiled rice.

This is why I always reckon it's better to not have a plan, it avoids dissapointment.

That would have been a nice plan.  Hope it works out next year.  Talking about next year I still hope to be over there in the spring.  I'd better get busy getting a passport.  So maybe I'll see you before you see me   .

Jim have you thought about maybe hooking up with one of the teams out of Phoenix, like Sparky, and seeing about coming up with them.  That way you might be splitting the gas.  Hope you figure out a way to make it happen.

Denise we will miss you and Megan here, but at least you will be at b'ville.  Look forward to seeing you there and yes come help put up the shelter if you are out there Sunday morning.

High ground clearance vehicle?

Uh-Oh...

Sue and I still assume the foetal position when we reminisce about our 'sight seeing' tour with you. Seeing the sight of that 300-foot drop off the edge of that muddy road sure was memorable. :)

Still the highlight of your honeymoon (with clothes on obviously).
Yes it is Grandad\'s Old Rambler!
