As my second post I will introduce myself as an "old fart in training" (just turned 49) and about to get a 5.5 year project on the road.  What started out as a father/son quick build for a high school ride turned into more as things typically do.  I have some pics of the build and current status here:

Opps - will not let me post this as a newbie (see signature for link)

Please, go ahead and slam it - at least it is not a wagon -right?

Got the wiring completed last weekend and now starting on finishing out the interior.  Hope to have it running, tagged and insured (what a pita!) by 7/3.

Have been on several other sites over the years and glad I finally signed on here.  Being a Texan I have been known to exaggerate at times but that goes with the territory.  Glad to be here.

Welcome Houston.  Glad you found us :b-d:   Hmm, sorta sounds like space shuttle talk....

Nice truck.  Most of us understand the "longer to finish than expected" thing.

We're a pretty flexible group that like most anything mechanical.  There's even a few of us truckin guys that secretly drive wagons too.

Thanks for the welcome.

I live in the Klein area which is NW of Houston proper.  Used to be country but I think you have to drive to Oklahoma now to find country anymore.

I will confess to having an un-satisfied desire to build a Willys Overland 4x4 wagon for my hunting trips with a secondary suppressed urge to do a 64 Belair wagon sleeper with a roof rack.  Sounds like I should be in a wagons anonymous group with some of you.

Daveyboy

Good to have you here!!
You will like this place noone tell you what you should like and not like. They just help out  :D  :P

We already have the old fart catagory covered. The king will turn 60 next month. The father and son build projects are normal here. We evem have a Grandfather-Grandson build every once in a while (same people different project). The people here will generally not tell you how to build something but their experience is loaded with stuff that didn't work. Enjoy! GPster
