brake problems

Hi have a problem I am running dis /drums  the bakes will come on but all pressure does not relaese eventuall brakes will stay on, I f I adjust  master cylinder push rod I loose baking ability and pedal gets soft ,What can I do ,I am using a stoke bra ke modulator It is in a 1942 GMC  173 blazer front 1979 rear ,1998 Dodge 2500 master .Thanks Rick

Ok, remove the master cylinder from the booster, and check the pushrod there. It is adjustable, and is probably set too long.
