How Many Street Rods ?

Does anybody have a clue how many Street Rods there are ?

None, they were all painted flat black for Earth Day and are now Rat Rods.

Some years ago I saw a figure that 1 out of 20 street rods go to the nationals, which would mean about 300,000 street rods.

And an observation re Nats attendance: I spent a number of years working the Nationals Registration on Saturday morning. NSRA uses the last sold registration number as the number of cars in attendance.

My guess is that there are maybe 20% of the packets not picked up. And maybe another 5-10& that are members using their packet for spectator entrance - no car there at all.

Not picking a fight - just an observation. Still more street rods in one place than I ever dreamed of when I joined in 1972 at the Detroit Nats where ther were 1800 or so cars.

WOW, what a ride!

And still growing with daily production continually adding to the total.

I suspicion if all the different builders new turnkey cars were added up it would rank somewhere up on the list of car manufacturers here.

Sure did, drove the DD. I think there was 4 or 5 couples from here. One with a street rod - a '32. One of the other couples owns it now.

There are 300,436 street rods in the USA as of 4:00 PM today. If I could just finish my projects there would be 2 more.
