Irene has an old towncar for around town.
It's a 1991 with a 4.6
It was leaking coolent so I pull it in the shop no biggy. I was wrong!
To change the heater hose you must pull the intake, yes thats what I said. the heater hose runs down the center of the engine  ,out the rear of the water pump and into the heater core.
This was the first year ford switched from the 5.0 to the 4.6 in the town car,and I also noticed that the lower radiator hose comes out of the engine on the drivers side and runs all the way over to the passinger side to the radiator,I would think they would have moved the outlets on the radiator.
I just hate little jobs

ummmmmmm, do you have the updated design intake manifold on that engine??

There was a design change to stop a water  leakage problem as I recall.
