Mike,
sorry to hijack this post, but could you email me the adress for the Prune Orchard garage.  I'd like to order one of your's and vern's books.

Quote from: "av8"I'd planned to specify a 2GV for a 283/307/327 1968 SBC. That should get me ahead of the smogification add-ons, and the jetting should be close to what I need for my 260-cid flathead.

What is the difference between a 2GC and a 2GV?

I had a '67 283 and a '71 307, and I was under the impression (perhaps, mistakenly) that both used 2GC's.

Are the 2GV's the "Pontiac" carbs with the larger bolt pattern?

Thanks, in advance, for additional info!

I'm not sure what the differences are, Bruce. Carburetors Direct lists the 2GV beginning in late '60s through 1974, and 2GC for 1975-1978.

Wayne, you need to go to Speed Week at B'ville in August like we talked about and pick the book up from Mike and Vern in person.

The choke mechanism is the difference. Other than hat they are fundimentally the same. The Pontiac carb, which was used on Olds Buick, and some later Chevys too, was another series, similar but not the same. Very few parts interchange with 2GC
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I don't think so. How about a postal or Western Union money order? That should do it.
