Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement!

I was really pleased to be able to bring the car home for a few days, get it cleaned up and drive it.

Driving it makes me appreciate and get some satisfaction from spending all those hours in the garage.

Having my son work with me is icing on the cake!

Yeah he is already bugging me to drive it... soon, but I am nervous with the drum brakes and all.

Any advice on the kid driving it!

Let him, with you along for the ride. My childern, and grand children have driven my cars, my grandson took my Marlin to dances, and football games. I may have been lucky, but there have been no incidents.

I guess since they knew the pride and affection I took in my special cars, they treated them with respect.

Josh did have a Ujoint go out on the Marlin, but it was not his fault, I knew it was bad, thought it had one more trip in it. It didn't. And of course, a couple months later, I blew another one showing off to him, but that wasn't his fault either.

Now when fatcat was a teen, and driving my daily driver, that was another story, 5 engines in a year.

Looks like a brand new car, great job.  I know what you mean about the kids working with you.  That's always been the best part for me too.

Makes me wish I would have bought that '58 348 car I passed up about 3 years ago.  :(  :(
