32 ford rear width

I searched and didn't find the answer. What is the normal width of the rear to use with 4" back space wheels?

Ive got  an 8 inch from a 71 comet in my roadster.. They were a good rear to use. go to the tech section and see if its listed. It should be. My americans are 3 3/8 bs and the new ones i have comming are 3 1/2.

Most 32 Ford owners use the 56 inch wide or 58 inch wide rear ends under their 32's. The 56 or 58 inch measure is measured like in the above photo.

The early V8 Maverick/Comet rear is 56 inches. TCI also narrows their 9 inch Ford rears to 56 inches on their 32 chassis.






I have a 56 inch wide 9 inch under my 32 3W project ( shown above ) ... but I have the 58 inch under my full fendered 32 roadster

I have a 57" housing, brakes and axles here. 28 spline. One I had narrowed, and never used.
