working on the late model vettes

so .... you need a fresh tranny in the 1999 Corvette?

what a PITA to work on.

remove the rear tires, suspension and support cradle. remove exhaust , remove a tunnel cover to drop down the drive shaft tube.

The drivetrain configuration is one of the reasons I don't have a C5 or C6 'vette.  Another reason might be the $87,000 price tag on the pretty black '07 Z06 C6 at my local dealer.

Yeah, but the yuppie owner gets braggin' rights at the water cooler on Monday. (Hey man, I called the shop, and they got my car scattered all over the shop....wow, man, that's almost as cool as the $15,000 tune up you got on your Ferrari). :roll:

there are only 4 spots to lift the car with out damage.  


We cut some wood chunks into the proper shape to lift this vette up.

The car has nitrous on it.... the trans will be toast before too long.
