Sunday arvo's effort.

Letterbox still has some more to be done....

Here's the original....

Take one Revellogram Deuce 3 window, chuck away the Ford engine and replace with Desoto Hemi from Lil Coffin (it has the prerequisite six carbs) modified with ford water-pump and alternator drive pulley system.

Recess mount some flat plastic sheet and add half round strips to replicate the firewall on the Deuce customs body.  Front axle is resin I beam with Buick brakes from the AAMT Ice-Cream truck kit.

Chop the kit's stock height body, remove door hinges and fill cowl vent.

Mostly as it comes at this end, will adapt stock deuce tailamps from another kit.

Dash is modified for RHD and the moon tank will come from an old AMT kit.

Well I'll be working on a small addition for storage to my garage, a 6' X 12" lean-to off the back. I started laying it out Tues. and by tonight will have the studs and maybe the rafters in place and ready to start sheeting it. The ground in back of the garage slopes quickly away so this is up on poles in the rear and sitting on the foundation in the front. So it's up off the ground with a wood floor.

moving a landscape retaining wall..

tore it down saturday ... laid out the pattern i want .  Now to pour some concrete to set the stones on.  I need to recover a day or two first.

Lived here 9 yrs and early  summer of 2008 the irrigation caused my septic tank to settle about 4-5 inches.  this crushed the exit pipe of the tank , broke a plastic fitting.  Not sure why after 9 yrs the dirt decides to settle

So , the retaining wall must be moved to keep the irrigation water back away from the septic tank and dry well.

Here's some pictures from my last 3 weekends. Remodeled the daughters kitchen. She lives  about 1 hour away so I did it over the weekend on Fridays and Saturdays. Tore out the old upper cabinets and replaced them one weekend, then the next weekend did the lowers and some electrical work and measured for counter tops and tile and the 3rd weekend put on the new counter and laid up the tile and finished the trim and misc stuff. Glad that's all over. Now they are talking about moving so their daughter can be in a different school district   At least it will bring up the value of the house.

Going to shoot more primer on the Olds. Getting ready for the Garage tour early next month.   I am going to put the new wheels on it and set up the electronics for the air ride to see how that all goes.  Pretty much done with the doors and have now started on the hood, and is it a mess!

Carps, I've got to thank you for posting the pics of the memorial service for the lady and her children.  How sad....but what a wonderful show of support and caring by everyone.   Nice pics of some very nice cars too.

The meticulous work you do with your striping and models is always nice to see too.

It's nice that we use this thread to show weekend stuff but many posts  really do deserve their own thread.  They get buried so quickly without much comment.

Tomorrow I plan on roofing the addition. As soon as that's done I can cut the door between the two and put the last 2 ft of sheeting on the side

Tomorrow morning at the Butt-Crack of dawn Normspeed and I will be off to the Spring Daytona swap meet.  After a day at the swap we are driving over to the Mount Dora/Tavares/Eustis, Florida area to spend the night.  Saturday morning we'll take in a large wooden boat/woodie meet followed by the once/month Eustis cruise night.  Just another hum-drum weekend in paradise.

Josh and I just took two broken Escort transaxles, and built one good one out of them. One had a blown diff, and the other had a broken shift fork. The only junkyard that had one around here, for a 1.8 twin cam, wanted $250 for it.

Now his dad and he are installing it in Josh's "new" car. 94 Escort GT.

Now I have to go pull a quick ratio steering box out of a Buick.

Spent most of the day so far trying to get the spring perches out of a stock Model A axle. So far got one nut off, one nut butchered. The spring shackles came right apart, a little Kroil and the nuts spun right off. On the one perch that I have the nut off I have tried Kroil, heat, (all I have here is a Mapp gas torch), and the candle wax trick. The perch won't budge. I am doing this for my brother who gave me the axles along with a big pile of other junk when he moved to Alabama a few years ago. He called and said he had bought a Model A Todor sedan body, three hoods, all fenders, and a grille shell for $300. He wants the axle to make a "rat rod" out of his find. Its too big to ship with the wishbone on itso I'm breaking it down into a couple smaller parcels to ship to him. I know him too well, he'll make a nice finished car from this. He's the guy that spent two weeks sanding and smoothin the frame on his "34 P.U. before he painted it gloss black then hid it under the truck.

My 32 has been down for about 3 weeks. The radiator started leaking so I sent it back to the manufacturer. It's non-repairable so they're building a new one. I didn't like a few things about the used 347 short block that I put in about 500 miles ago so it's coming out and the original 5.0 is going back in. That engine had 80,000 miles on it. I put new bearings and an oil pump in it. I want this to be reliable so I can go anywhere this summer and that was my best option. I'll probably have another 347 but I will build the next one myself. This weekend is the motor swap so I better get back to work.

Here's what happened when I got bored.  Painted the doors on cabinets beneath the workbench.
