QuoteSo I am proposing a BBQ build day some time late march, or early april. for those of you that have never participated in one, we do a little work, tell a few lies, and have a nice cookout when we have a build day. Every one is invited, even if all you can do is tell us we are doing it wrong
I would also love to make it to one of the "build days".    At this point we are not planning to be back in Ohio untill May.   It would be nice if you could set a date for late may or even into June, when the weather is a little milder.............      It sounds like a great idea and a great time  :T) .   I have seen some pictures of you guys before.....I think it was on the wall at the post office ( ).

Doug

That would be cool. Rayvyn did the same thing once.
Some days it\'s not worth chewing through the restraints.

Id like to see all you long distance guys show. We do have fun and ill admit the first couple times all i did was harass slocrow and drink beer but then I got into the build     8)
But slocrow (aka vetteboy) drove his vette :!:  :!:  Im waiting for my  Dreamy buddy vance to get to town

Keep us posted as to a date for the fixin' party. I am planning a two week road trip in late March/early April, but maybe it'll work out to make it to Franks too. I'm only just over two hours away and haven't been to one yet, always a schuduling conflict, but it would be a fun time I'm sure!

HotRodLadyCrusr

You know you can count on me to be there and help
If anyone needs to be picked up from the Metro Detroit Airport I can certainly do that.  I'm about 10 miles from the airport.  Franks place is approx 1 1/4 hours from my place.
Also, I have plenty of room if anyone needs a place to crash.

My suggestions on dates for March/April

March 9-11        Detroit Autorama, this date is NO GOOD
March 17/18 GOOD
March 24/25 GOOD
March 31/April 1   Lonestar RoundUp, date is no good for me
April 7/8 Easter  NO GOOD
April 14/15        GOOD
April 21/22        GOOD
April 28/29        GOOD

I personally would not book a repair/cleanup party in May or June.  WAY too many other car stuff going on around here.

ALSO, can I "reserve" the RRT BBQ trailer for Friday, June 1st?  I'm going to have a kickoff party at my place for BilletProof.  The one that they have had the last couple of years at Boomers bar has been lame.  Lots of folks coming in from out of town for that weekend and I wanna give them a place to hang out and let loose without having to drive 30 miles to where they're sleeping.  I'll block off the street like in the past, we'll eat some good food, do a bon-fire, generally just hang out and have a good time.  All RRTer and HAMB folks will be invited.

Looking for old good for nothing flathead heads to use for garden project.

Those pics look like an "old guys" convention. I wonder why I wasn't there. Oh, I remember, I live in the middle of nowhere.

I'm thinking either March 24 or April 14. If any of you are coming from out of town, there are a couple motels nearby.

Yes Denise, you can reserve it for June 1st. If you are really nice, I might even drag it up there.

Well, my preference is April 14, unless there is a persuasive reason not to. The first week of April I will be in Reno, bowling at the National.

Nope, but I still have it.  I just ordered a "Shock and Awe" to take there. I have been bowling with an old Rhino, but it's been redrilled, and they don't really like that at the nationals. I bowled a 578 today. I carry a 173 average. My son Dave, brother love on the RRT, carriys a 230 average, and my grandson Josh carrys a 200 average. At the Nationals, the team is my father, frank sr., 155av., my brother Mike, 210av., Josh, my son Dave, my wife Cheryl 145av, and me.

That 173 is a pretty good all around bowler. You don't have the heat on you all the time to perform and you're never to far away so that you can't catch up. I take that position because we are close as my lifetime is around 168ish. My Dad was like me, a 165 guy but my brother was a 220ish bowler and when he was off we would get killed. I was always happy with a 525 series and I think only did a 600 once. Mr. consistency, that was me.
Good Winter fun! Did you ever make the, what was it, the Peterson I think, in Chicago? I heard the lanes were warped, rutted and grooved not to mention the nails but lot's of fun. Wonder if they still do the do???   I never made it.
I kept using my Black Diamond all the way. Just had to crank it a little more with the new dressings. I was there for the beer not the score. I still was a 160-170 kind of bowler.          #4

It may seem funny, but the older I get, the better I bowl. My average keeps going up. Last year, one member of out team had a 97 average. That made things difficult at times, but when she managed a 170 game, it was a lot of help.

You guys are always talking about the sweet sounds of hearing a new engine fire for the first time. The best I've ever done is gettin an engine run after it's sat in a cow pasture for 22 years or in a hollow under an oak tree for 9. Maybe we could put the motor back in the Buick and get it to fire while we're there. GPster
