Hi all,

I'm looking for the bolt hole configuration on the LHS panel of my 1952 Chevy 1/2 ton bed that the spare tire carrier attaches to.

I have searched out and found (eBay) a very decent spare tire fender and a spare tire carrier. I am trying to eliminate the trial and error by asking for the bolt pattern measurements from someone who just might have an original 1/2 ton pickup with a box mounted spare.

Thank you all for your time, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The chevy and GMC 1/2 tons had a 6 bolt on 5 1/2" circle. That is the same as chevy cars used until '48. Chevy trucks used it until '72 (?) when they went to 5 on 5". After that they only used the 6 on 5 1/2" on   4 X 4s. The other 6 bolt that he's talking about is on Datsuns, Nissons and Issusus and it's on a way bigger bolt circle. The number of Views shows have many people looked at your question but couldn't understand it. You weren't being ignored but some of us (me) can only respond to one thing at a time so  Hi! and What?  questions get lost. Look in the Tech heading on top of the page and I think you might find the listing for wheel bolt circles. GPster

... "Bolt Pattern" might not be the best choice of words for the info I'm looking for.

I have a pristine (New) bedside and need to drill holes in it to mount the spare carrier. I need to locate the holes to mount the spare tire carrier on that bedside (the "pattern of the bolts" that will attach the carrier to the bedside).

What I need is for someone who has a stock side mounted spare setup on a 1/2 ton pickup (not 3/4 ton) to measure where the holes are horizontally from the front panel and vertically from the bed boards.

Thank you all for your patience and any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I were worried about drilling holes for an Ebay mount I'd own it first. The tire size you want to mount may not be the same as originally intended and any information from the seller and a helper might be misconstrued (as was your question). The two catalogs that I have handy for AD Chevy truck parts don't mention anything about spare tire mounts. I know they exist but I personally have never seen one on a short bed and the bed sides and stake pockets change somewhere in the AD series so that might change matters too. We're glad to have you here but an answer to your question might be better sought at a site that specialisses in that make and model. GPster
