E-Brakes that bind up on one side only!

Having a problem with the daughter's 95 Mustang e-brake controls. The car has a console
mounted e-brake lever, it seems the cable is not long enough to release the lever enough
at rear disc brakes on one side<P/S>, the others side is ok. The cable on the pass side is
new, just installed it today! Double checked to see if thay give us the right one, and they
did per part number on the sealed bag, Tru-TorQue c94840!  The only thing left is the
lever control itself in the console. I see no adjustment anywhere from the underside of the
car, was thinking there maybe something in the console I cant see. Anyone been inside
one of these that can help.

Can you check the length of the old one to make sure the new one wasn't miss-packed...... just a thought  :wink:

Its done been pitched, but the new one acts just like the old one.

Im not very familiar with the Ford brakes for Mustangs but doing some asking around found out that the rear caliper screws in and out of the caliper, it also goes back and forth with hyd preasure, I never heard of this before? anyone else? :shock:

Yep in the mid-90's all Ford rear disc brakes had a piston that had to be screwed back into the caliper when you replaced the pads. They even make a special tool for retracting them. Most rear caliper setups now have a shoe and drum setup inside the base of the rotor.

From what info I found tonight it sounds like I need to relieve tention on the FRONT CABLE that is wound on a spring loaded spool at the brake lever. That will involve removing the consel, I supose the spool is somewhat wound like a old lawn mower rope recoil. Dont know this will be new territory.
