Worked on the car a little over the weekend. I brought home a trunk lid from a Ford Focus. I cut the third brake light hole out, and glued it in place in the '48. Decided to glue rather than weld because the new stuff is so thin I didn't want to warp it. Then I made a bracket to hold it in place. I used some #10 bolts and glued a piece of 1/2" tubing on each side of the light opening. The bracket puts pressure on the middle section of the light, which will hopefully prevent water intrusion.

Then I worked on the thingie that goes under the door bubble. I cut the mounting hole from the Passat fender and glued the hole in place in the thingie. Then I rounded off the other end so that it flows smoother under the bubble. I got that idea from Denise's car.

Progress is being made.
