My son just purchased a half finished Model A street rod and of course left it in Dad's shop to see what I can do with it.  The steering box is worn out and he was told that it may be a '56 ford pickup box but not sure.  Ingersoll Machine TAAA is cast in the housing, is this enough information to identify?  Any help identifing this box and possibly a rebuild source will be appreciated.  Thanks.

I don't think you have given us enough information. If you could post some pictures of what you have it might go a long way to IDing this box for you.

I think most of these Ford truck boxes were Gemmer. I have 3 of them and that's what they all say.

Yeah, post some pictures. By the way, if it is a Ford box, all the parts are available to rebuild it. Not cheap, but available.

Gents, thanks for the help.  I'll take some pictures and post tomorrow.
Thanks again.

I can't remember if I bought my steering box rebuild parts from Dennis Carpenter or Obsolete Ford Parts.(It's only been 15 years)  Once you post those pix we'll have a better idea what you have there. Shoot from all angles if possible.
