I know this has been discussed to death on here but at the risk of getting rocks thrown my way I do have a few questions.

I am trying to use a Powermaster one wire alternator on a 61 Ford that came with a Generator. My question is if I just remove the wires from the old regulator to the old generator what happens to the wires that came  from the dash to the regulator?

I do not have a wiring diagram for the car so I have no idea what each wire is for but I assume that if I just remove the wires the dash light will no longer work but will the rest of the functions still get power? Or does the power to the ignition switch come through the regulator also?

Any help would be appericated and if anyone has a wiring diagram for a 61 or so Galaxie and could give me the regulator wiring color code that would be great. Or if someone could point me to a web site that may have the information I could work it out for myself?

Thanks,
Scott...
