With my Garmin unit there is a mapping software named Map Source.

I have learned it has similar mistakes in it as MapQuest does.  Must be a general mapping service that these companies source from.

In Smyrna TN last year my 2610 Garmin unit lead ( talks to you) me to a spot where it said my son's house was located at.  Only I was  near 1/4 mile east of him at an empty field.  That is when my son told me that MapQuest shows their house at the same location as the Garmoin unit.

That is the only time so far I have been mis- lead by the GPS unit.

I also use the Garmin unit for speed indicator on my motorcycle.  Most motorcycles speed-O's indicate a higher speed than actual.  As Harley riders are vibrating down the road at 65 mph , they are probably at 60 -61 mph real speed.
