Oh, by the way, his A is airbagged front and rear. Here is the stuff that makes is work, none of which I understand.

The picture distorts the profile. That upright crossmember you see is offset about 8 inches, so the driveshaft passes by it on the right. Look at the picture looking down on the frame, and you can just barely see how it clears.

He also left enough room for the body to go up and down 8 inches, too, plus clearance for suspension travel. It is tight back there with the airbag stuff, though. Good thing it's a fordor, not a coupe.
