Thursday is my last day until Jan. 3rd.  With holidays and vacation time, I'm only losing one day w/o pay.  It won't affect the economy.

Like Phil, my last day at work is Thursday, and I will be back on January 3. The time off will be nice, and I will be able to spend time with my family and go visit my mom.  So, I won't be posting for a couple of weeks.

You could tune up the Snowblower and have it ready to go...
Grind a sharp edge on the snow shovel...
Clean the coils on the A/C fan...
Hose off the screens on the lanai...
Double check the BBQ and reset for maximun efficiency...
`Round up the hat, gloves, scarf and insulated boots so you'll have them when you need them...
Work on your tan...
Spend a few hours out in the cold polishing your knob...(on the Goldwing)
Put new weatherstripping around the doors and windows if needed...
Add insulation to the attic...
Pick up one of those propane torches from Harbor Freight to melt the ice off the sidewalks...
Prune your cactus...
Bring all the outside houseplants in from the cold...
Put on the studded snow tires and have the chains ready...
Stock up on salt...
Update the listing of the school closing numbers to call in case of a snow storm...
Gather carrots and branches for the snowman...
Make sure the inline heater on the truck is operational when you plug it in...

Oh, wait a minute...
We folks in the southern states don't need to do all that.
I forgot. I had a flashback to living up north. Sorry.
Just grab a beer, a thermometer and a lawnchair and enjoy the time off.
And make sure you have the right sunblock...

Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren\'t paved.

Last weekend was the Veraldo Family Christmas with all the kids and in-laws and grandkids here for gift exchange. Linda worked Monday and yesterday and had schedualed surgery done today. Early this year she had Carple Tunnel Syndrum fixed in one hand and later the other hand. Those surguries were successful but the paved the way for "Trigger Thumb" in both hands. Today surgury in both hands and both hands are ace bandaged up to the wrists. My few days off will start 1 / 3 / 06 . My only being able to keep my witts about be for about an hour working on my project will now be my relaxation. Things turned out OK and if it's 41 degrees tomorrow it will be dog walking time (5 or 6 hours) . Merry Christmas everyone, GPster

As Ken says, retirement is 24/7.  No time off at all.

I am working on an old project in the kitchen.... 2 years ago we had a new counter top installed.  That solid surface stuff with the sink molded & mounted under the counter top.

Thursday I started installing the tile back splash.  Janice bought the tile with in one week of the counter top install.

I hope I get the tile grout finished before 2006 is gone.
