Lookin' good, Doug.  I've finally gotten back to work on my 41, and am hoping to use your 'poor man's rotisserie' soon.  I found two NOS rear fenders last summer, and the original front ones are in near perfect condition.

Phil,

A tractor inner tube also works well for a poor man's rotisserie, however if you are going to weld on the floor pan it is wise to cover the inner tube with a fire proof blanket.  Don't ask me how I know.

What is the best way to get the car over on the tires?  Set the body on the floor (on two tires), then just roll it over on the other two?  I've only got 8' ceilings.

Phil,

That is exactly what I did, set it on 2 ties, and rolled it over.  You should be able to do that even with an 8' ceiling.

Doug

ps.  what is the 41 you are building, I can't remember

Doug, I've got a Poncho, same as my avitar.  Here's what it looked like last year when I set the body back onto the frame, so I could do the center trans hump.

Yeah, I know....how long can it take?  Too many "other projects" popped up this past year.  I've started working on it again.

I have to ask about your rotisserie. I am thinking of doing the same thing. Weren't you concerned about the body flexing? I want to get underneath and clean up the welds were I welded my body back together after making it shorter, and weld my parking brake mounts on, but I am a little leery of doing it. I did it with my 39, and the doors didn't seem to fit as well after. Did you put some bracing on the interior? A friend of mine has a commercial job at his body shop, but it always seems to have a car on it.
