I measured a foot of snow on the ground this morning. That's all come since Wed.
Some days it\'s not worth chewing through the restraints.

LOL, my brother left yesterday to visit his in-laws in Muskegon, we have only about 4" of snow this side of the state, but last week in the U.P. we got about 16" in a day, then i saw they got lots more up there the past couple days, good thing the Yoopers know how to deal with that kinda snow!

We got over 8" on Thanksgiving day alone. Not sure of the total since Wednesday? All I know is I've shoveled the "white crap" four days in a row :x

Near 60 here the last couple of days.  I wonder if I should take the cover back off of the pool?  Naw, it will hit here soon.  My brother said he was going for a run in the roadster this evening.

Got this letter from my buddy last year who moved to the upper peninsula in Michigan.   :D

December 1

We are finally moved into our retirement home up north.  It still needs a little work, but I'll take care of that this winter.  What a life.  I'm glad I convinced the wife to move here, she loves it.  We are blessed.

December 8

It started to snow today.  The first snow of the season and tonight the wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down from the sky, so pure, so white, it looked like a Grandma Moses print.  It was so romantic we felt like newlyweds again.  We love the snow.  This is heaven.

December 9

We awoke to a beautiful blanket of crystal white snow covering every inch of the landscape.  What a fantastic sight!  Can there be a more lovely place on this earth?  Moving up here was the best idea I've ever had.  Shoveled snow for the first time in years and felt like a young lad again.  I did both our driveway and the neighbors driveway and the sidewalks.  This afternoon the snowplow came along and closed in the driveways, so I've got to shovel them out again.  What a perfect life.

December 12

The sun has melted all our lovely snow.  What a disappointment.  Bob, my neighbor, who has lived up here for years, tells me not to worry, we'll definitely have a white Christmas.  No snow on Christmas would just be awful!  Bob says we'll have so much snow by the end of winter, that I'll never want to see snow again.  I don't think that's possible.  Bob is such a nice man, I'm glad he's our neighbor.

December 14

Snow lovely snow!  8 inches last night.  The temperature dropped to 20 degrees.  The cold makes everything sparkle so.  The chill took my breath away, but I warmed up by shoveling the driveway and sidewalks.  This is the life!  The snowplow came back this afternoon and buried the driveway again.  I didn't realize I would have to do quite this much shoveling, but I'll certainly get back in shape this way.  I wish I wouldn't huff and puff so.

December 15

20 inches forecast.  Traded in the new van and for a used 4 x 4 pickup.  Bought snow tires for the wife's car and 2 extra snow shovels.  Stocked the freezer.  The wife wants a wood stove in case the electricity goes out.  I think that's silly.  We're just up north, not in Alaska.  Bob the neighbor says I should look for a snow plow for the 4 x 4 pickup.

December 16

Ice storm last night, ice coated everything.  Fell on my * in the driveway putting down salt.  The wife laughed for an hour, which I think was very cruel.  Tore my new coat.

December 19

Still way below freezing.  Roads are too icy to go anywhere.  Electricity was off for 5 hours.  I had to pile the blankets on to stay warm.  Nothing to do but stare at the wife and try not to irritate her.  Guess I should've bought a wood stove, but won't admit it to her.  God I hate it when she's right.  I can't believe I'm freezing to death in my own living room.

December 20

Electricity's back on, but had another 14 inches of the * white stuff last night.  More shoveling.  Took all day.  * snowplow came by twice.  Tried to find a neighbor kid to shovel, but they're too lazy.  Called the only hardware store around to get a price on a snow blower.  Price is right but they're out of them.  Might get another shipment around March.  I think they're lying.  Bob the neighbor says I have to shovel or the county will have it done and bill me.  I think he's lying.  I should have bought a plow for the truck.

December 22

Bob was right about a white Christmas because 13 more inches of the white $hit fell today, and it's so cold it probably won't melt till August.  Took me 25 minutes to get all dressed up to go out to shovel and then I had to *.  By the time I got undressed, * and dressed again, I was too tired to shovel.  Tried to hire Bob who has a plow on his truck for the rest of the winter, but he say's he's too busy.  I know the * is lying.

December 23

Only 2 inches of snow today.  And it warmed up to 0.  The wife wanted me to decorate the front of the house this morning with Christmas lights.  What is she nuts! ! !  Why didn't she tell me to do that a month ago?  She says she did but I think she's lying.

December 24

Christmas eve.  6 inches of snow this morning.  Snow packed so hard by snow plow, I broke the shovel.  Thought I was having a heart attack.  If I ever catch the son of a * who drives that snowplow, I'll drag him through the snow by his ba!!$.  I know he hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shoveling my driveway and then he comes down the street at 100 miles an hour and throws snow all over where I've just shoveled. I'll fix him.  Tonight the wife wanted me to sing Christmas carols with her and open our presents, but I was busy watching the road for that * snowplow.

December 25

Merry Fuggin Christmas.  20 more inches of that  @cx&3+=@!# snow last night.  Snowed in. Truck won't start.  The idea of shoveling makes my blood boil.  God I hate the snow!  Then the snowplow goes by while I'm shoveling so I threw the * shovel at him, and I think I hit him.  GOOD.  The wife says I have a bad attitude.  I think she's an idiot.  If I have to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" one more time, I'm going to choke her then throw out the TV.

December 26

Still snowed in.  Why the hell did I ever move here?  It was all HER idea.  She's really getting on my nerves.  I HATE HER!

December 27

Temperature dropped to - 30 degrees.  The pipes froze.  Thank goodness no snow, but still snowed in.

December 28

Warmed up to - 10 degrees.  Still snowed in.  THE * is driving me crazy.

December 29

10 more inches of snow.  Bob says I should shovel the roof or it could cave in.  That's the silliest thing I ever heard of.  How dumb does he think I am. I think he's nuts.  The wife says the ceiling is making creaking noises. I don't hear anything. I think she's nuts.

December 30

Roof caved in.   The snow plow driver is suing me for a million dollars for his injury.  The wife went downstate to her mother.  Good ridance.  I don't need her.  9 inches of snow predicted for tonight.  If I see Bob I will kill him.

December 31

Set fire to what's left of the house.  I'm leaving.  No more shoveling.  The Police and Fire Department responded, I was arrested for arson.

January 8

Boy do I feel good.  In jail, no shoveling. They make me take little white pills.  Why white pills? I hate white.  Why am I tied to this bed?  Is spring here yet?  HEY.
OVER!
OVER?

Did we say it was over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Left Mich. in 1980 but by 87 missed the kids and the "seasons" so moved back. Escaped for good in 98. 80 and sunny today but it's not Christmas without snow, yea right !!

Crosley.In.AZ

thankfully I have never attached snow to christmas here in AZ.

I have a cousin in Illinois. She has mentioned how she prefers the 4 seasons over what I see in AZ.  She has already emailed me * about a few cold days she had to stay inside.  She is retired , no need to travel to work any more

I try to email photos to her of a BBQ or other out door activity during our winter here
