I think the price of gas going up is just a cheap shot at the public to make more profit, I wouldnt mind if they gave it to the poor people that lost every thing in the storm

There is a lot of speculation here about how high it will go before people change their driving habits or vehicle choices. I think we are up around $3.80m $US for a US gal.  no doubt there is a trend, but it is not spectacular.

The situation in Australia, is not unlike the USA; most of our cities are young and most growth occured post car.  We are therefore very car dependent.  Even today, most urban growth is still, fringe and greenfield, rather that urban consolidation (although that is slowly changing).

I've got an older full sized van that I don't need anymore and planned to sell it this summer.  By the time I got it cleaned up and put a for sale sign in it the gas prices started to rise.  It's a bargain but I haven't even had a call on it in three weeks so it looks like it will go back into storage for a while.  The problem is that it has two full tanks of gas that have been in it for a year now (38 or 40 gallons I think).  I tried to siphon but can't get a hose past something blocking it before it gets to the tank.  It will probably be worth it to license it just to burn the gas.  Imagine that....I've got too much gas and have to take a trip just to burn it up.   :?

My 92 Dodge Dakota has 165,000 hard miles on it.  I used it to it's full potential when we were building the house.  But now it is just a worn out gas burner.  Not worth anything in trade.  I was thinking about building a First Series Chevy half ton as a replacement.  But most likely I will get something economical with enough beans to pull a small utility trailer.

Wife drives an CTS and it gets about 20 around town and almost 30 on the road.  Hard to beat that with anything practical.

I'll never sell the roadster.  But I am building "something to be determined" with a mild Olds 215 and overdirive transmission.  Should be economical while retaining the V8 look and sound.

George......LEAVE that gas in the vans tanks old buddy. If it doesn't sell,it will save you a LOT of headaches on down the road when you don't have to pull the tanks and flush the condesation out of them,or worse yet, replace them when they rust thru.............

Willy and I have already decided the JetSki's are going into storage early this summer. Each boat holds 15 gallons, and if I PLAY HARD, I can burn a tankful up in a couple of hours     Not to mention what the Durango burns while your dragging them to the lake
I am not a Ford kinda guy,but a buddy of mine just offered me a high mileage Escort in nice condition for 300 bucks................I am on that like stink on you-know-what

If we are what we eat.........
Then I am fast, cheap and easy.

Yeah, I know.  That's why they're full now but the gas is starting to smell bad even tho I've used Sta-bil.  I'm going to have to burn what's in it and refill with fresh gas.  That fill-up is going to hurt   I don't have to worry about condensation in my heated shop but that only holds 3 cars and my bike.  That's why I'm selling stuff :?

I see  that thw BP station that was at $3.18 when I went to OBT's after supper came down to 2.99  when I came home at 9:30 or so. That's down from $3.48 Wed. morning. The pipelines are filling back up. So far I have avoided $3+ gas. Wish the  New Orleans and that area folks were doing as well in general.
