I have only used Spal fans so I'm kinda partial to them.
A street rod is a vehicle made before 1949 that is modified with modern stuff: bigger motors; newer trans; updated suspension, front & rear; a/c.
Following is a street rod plus definition: No known definition because it changes.

Gotta agree, I have a Spal 16" pusher. about 2700-2800 CFM
keeps my small block Chevy cool.

Spal 3000 cfm .... see here.. http://www.srbymichael.com/manufacturers/spal/fans.shtml

Prepare to upgrade the electrical system tho. 25 amps continuous needs a 70amp relay (see here.... http://www.newark.com/NewarkWebCommerce/newark/en_US/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=94F6087&N=0 ) and at least a 100 amp alt.

SPAL works great. I ran one on my 65 Shelby GT350 with A/C in Arizona heat and it worked great.

I'm setting up the Packrod with a Spal and like the fact that it doesn't use a lot of space.  It does pull some power, but you don't get something for nothing!

HEY I just noticed that you're from Ridgecrest. I grew up there and graduated from Burroughs High in '62.

I was one of the youngest members ever in the Dust Devils Car Club back in the 60's and grew up on Inyokern Drag strip.

Here's a few photos of me you might enjoy seeing:

By the way, here's some photos of the SPAL fan I put on my Shelby
