Now for the temp gauges, one more radiator hose cobbed up and minimal wire for a test drive around the yard. The original strombergs are wanted by the guy I got the motor from, don't care much for them anyway. Got a clean pair of 94's model 59, the only jet size I have are 51 and 56.

From reading I understand the mild 24 stud duals use about 45 jets, so the 221 motor should use smaller yet? I was thinking of starting with .040 ?  It's all new to me I just want it to run, not planning on racing

I'm not an expert on this but I understand you can run the .051's with a 4.5 power valve's. I'm currently running Stromberg 97's on a 239 with .046's. when I had a 221 in my roadster, I had 94's with .051's but I listened to flathead Jack and plugged the power valves. It ran good, but I didn't notice any difference with two carbs than I did with just one 94 with .051's and a 6.5 power valve.
The most important thing to watch out for is how your plugs look after a highway run. Thats where the right jet size shows up. Too rich and you waste gas and wash the cyl walls of oil, too lean and you overheat and burn valves.
If it\'s too loud, You\'re too old
