Auto Meter Cobalt series guages

Does anyone have any idea why the Cobalt series guages are so danged expensive? I realize they have a nice wide angle sweep on most guages, and are the newest in the line, but the difference in price from the other series I am considering, Pro Comp, is mind boggling!

Any other recommendations for guages?

I've seen the price on those also and it's hard for me to fathom just how better can a gauge get than what is already available.
I've got VDO's and they work great.
Not to mention the one button speedo calibration that you can do while driving down the road.
