We're going to miss all the fun you guys are going to have but a good friend of ours, John Hanson, is puting on a car show in Wendover, NV at one of the casino's he manages and we owe it to him to support it.  I really wish I could join you guys.  Oh well!!.

Don't worry Don, you're not the only one dissapointed on that score.

I just hope the guys make sure 'my delegate' get's lotsa fotoes to bring home and share.

Latest bad news is it also looks like I'm going to miss the Nat's and Bonneville.  Some may consider that good news, so the bad news is that I may be down but I'm not out, so I'll be back soooner or later.

That's where Jim and I were thinking of booking.  Their cheapest rate is $62 but that's AAA and all I've got is AARP.  They don't mention a discount for being old.  I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if I can get a deal somehow.

Man, if the girl (or guy) thinks you're cute, they must have some pretty ugly people in West Covina.

The only thing I wonder is what is your cute self doing to get that $50/day discount ~:) You aren't renting a lawn mower are you?

Well, I have arrived.  Heading up to Palmdale today to visit a Teardropper and then swinging by Bob's Big Boy in Burbank tonight.  Then It's up at 4:00 AM to head down to the Donut Derilicks.  Anything else going on tomorrow that any of you might be aware of.  Don, if you see that old black plymouth lurking around your shop, it's just us.

Someone mentioned that they heard on the TV news a couple nights ago that the health dept. closed down the Toluca Lake Bob's Big Boy because of rodent infestation. Dunno if that's true or not, just what I heard.

Tomorrow, the High Desert Roadsters Club is having their annual Big Bear run. It starts at the Vons market at Main and I Streets in Hesperia at about 7:00am. It costs $1.85 for the run and you need to bring a trophy to trade. Any old trophy will do, bowling, car show, little league, homemade.
I hear there's also an open house at Richard Graves' shop in Long Beach on Saturday. Dunno any spcifics on that since I'll be in Big Bear.

Sunday is El Mirage and The Early Times Picnic is at the Compton Knife and Gun Club. The Long Beach Swap Meet is also Sunday and there's a cruise at 1910 Pacific Coast Hwy after the swap meet.

I'd better not smell any fresh paint on that Plymouth!

DrJ

This Sunday is also The Road King's Picnic in Johnnie Carson park, in Burbank. Hotrod Bob is a club member (usta be Prez) and will be there (So will I )

Don, What's Richard's address?
I heard he moved since I was there last...

Speaking of wet paint....the primer is still wet on my pinewood car and it only weighs 3 ounces so I'll have to add some lead before I paint it.  I'm thinking I don't want to carry it on the plane because they will probably think it's a bomb or something when the lead shows up on their xray.  Then they'll want to see what is buried inside the car.   I'd like to FEDEX it out to someone's house in California if I could.  It won't be ready to ship til Monday so it probably won't get to River1's place before we leave for LA.  If someone wants to PM me an address I'd appreciate it.

Don't worry... I'll have extra "stick on" weights available at the party you can tune your car there.
So Save your shipping money!
I also have several extra cars and extra kits people can build.
I did a "20 minute build and race contest" at one of Moldy Marvin's Rat Fink Partys.
It was cool and one of the 20 minute built cars was the day's top eliminator!!
we just weighted them with quarters and masking tape and ran them in bare "rat rod" wood.
