Several years ago my remote control  broke for my trailer winch.

I have used the bare wire ends to winch stuff onto the trailer since a new controller was $65.

today i went to radio shack , bought a dual action momentary contact switch rated at 25 amps ( plastic piece)..

I heated up a piece of PVC pipe (see burn marks) and jambed the switch in. I plugged the wire ends onto the spades of the switch.  I used a PVC reducer to narrow the open end.

I then filled the cavity with some urethane caulking.  Works like a champ!

I must be a genius.... just a little slow gettin things done
